Parlous state of the roads

WhilE many have seen the Tory Council’s ineffective reaction to managing the roads in bad weather, few have thought about how much worse the roads have been getting underneath all that snow and ice.

I have urged council leaders to increase spending on roads to prevent them falling into a parlous state, to no avail.

Last year it was reported to the highways scrutiny committee which I chair, that another severe winter would make the roads crumble!
