WE would like to express our deepest thanks for helping to resolve our gas supply difficulty with National Grid. Over this cold spell, and due to a fractured gas supply pipe, our gas supply was disconnected on Tuesday, January 5 — which left us with no heating or cooking facilities.

Through no fault of their own, due to pressure of demand, National Grid found it impossible to restore the supply quickly.

It was Jonathan Grosskopt, local candidate for Sedgley Park, who suggested publicity to help our cause in this difficult weather —- and in stepped the Prestwich and Whitefield Guide, particularly Dale Haslam, to the rescue. As a result, on Friday, January 8, the supply was connected and it was ‘all systems go’ within 24 hours of contacting the Guide. Thank you also to neighbours and friends for very welcome support and care.
