Many thanks

4:46pm Thursday 2nd September 2010

MY sincere thanks to those who came to my assistance and called the ambulance when I fell in the street on Friday, July 24. Also thanks to the paramedics and staff in A&E at Fairfield Hospital.

Keep a check on road works

4:39pm Thursday 2nd September 2010

COUNCILLOR Gunther is quite right in ensuring that the utility companies reinstate our roads properly after they have dug them up (Bury Times, August 19). And about time! Motorists and pedestrians are constantly falling foul of this shoddy workmanship. Will she also ensure that the many other potholes and loose pavement stones within our borough which are not caused by the utility companies are also reinstated?

Rock has split town in two

3:40pm Thursday 26th August 2010

WHO was the genius who designed The Rock?

Disabled views

3:42pm Thursday 26th August 2010

COULD the disabled set up their own political party to ask for equal access to opportunity and dignity in old age?

New trustees must take over from bank

3:33pm Thursday 26th August 2010

FULL marks to Colin Snape for revealing the millions taken by Barclays Bank in trustee fees from the W O Street Foundation, and the even more millions paid out in grants to charities outside of Bury and Lancashire in direct contravention of Mr Street’s wishes.

Garages situation must be sorted

3:32pm Thursday 26th August 2010

I am very dismayed with Bury Council/Six Town Housing. At the beginning of November 2009, I made enquiries about renting a council garage close by to where I live in Ramsbottom.

There’s plenty of work for the coalition

3:34pm Thursday 26th August 2010

Mr A King attacks the efforts of the coalition government with typical left-wing double standards: “When did the PM and his friends work?” (August 19).

Roadworks are at a standstill

3:34pm Thursday 26th August 2010

I read with interest the letter regarding the roadworks along Bury Bridge.

Well done to our new MP

3:35pm Thursday 26th August 2010

Councillor Connolly’s pious critique on MP David Nuttall is somewhat undermined when one remembers the actions of the Labour MP who previously represented Bury North.

Criticism of new MP is unjustified

3:36pm Thursday 26th August 2010

I AM totally amazed but suppose that I should not be at Cllr Connolly’s tirade at the MP for Bury North David Nuttall (“Time for us to reflect on MP’s performance”, Bury Times, August12).
