Only victory will do for desperate Tigers

EIGHT month's worth of blood, sweat and tears will be condensed into 80 minutes on Saturday when Sedgley Tigers' National Division One fate could be decided.

With Launceston winning their game in hand they leapfrogged Sedgley, who dropped into the bottom two. Saturday's game against the bottom-placed Bees, therefore, could not be more important. With 39 points each Launceston and the Tigers are six points ahead of the Bees, so it is looking like two out of the three will be playing Division Two rugby next season.

So the message going into the game against the Bees down in Solihull is simple and to the point - win.

Tigers' director of rugby, Tim Fourie, did not know the make-up his match-day 22 for this season-defining clash.

"At the moment, injuries are not the worry, availability is," he explained.

"Luther Burrell looks like being called up by Leeds for their Guinness Premiership game at Gloucester. All five of our loan players from Sale were in action Wednesday night in the Jets' A team game against Worcester, and we had the little matter of the Lancashire Cup final against Waterloo also on Wednesday night, so it's going to be the last minute before we know who is going to be available."

"Our remaining games are the Bees away and then Rotherham at home and they are both winnable," added Fourie.

"The Bees have us and then Bedford away, so realistically only the game against us is winnable; while Launceston have Bedford at home and then Northampton away.

"Having already claimed the league and trophy double, Saints will want to round their season off with a 100 per cent league record. So while Launceston could possibly beat Bedford at home if they beat Saints at Franklin's Gardens then something would be very wrong.

"As for this weekend both the Bees and us have everything to lose.

"Our fate is in our hands, we just have to win."
