TALENTED basketball players from Prestwich Arts College are celebrating after winning every game this season.

The 11-strong squad, whose members are aged between 11 and 13 years old, played 10 matches against neighbouring high-school teams and won them all, to finish top of the Bury basketball league.

They are coached by Andy Thomas, the school’s boys PE teacher.

Head of PE Caroline Leng: “It is a fantastic achievement and all the staff are very proud of them. They have trained hard and put in an awful lot to get that far.

“They have shown a lot of potential so now the challenge for them is to compete at a higher level next year when they all move up an age group.”
