WHITEFIELD Golf Club is launching a new flexible way of paying for golf designed to deliver health and financial benefits at the same time as hoping to sign up 100 new members.
The club is introducing Flexi-Golf, a unique pay-as-you-go style of membership.
The flexi-golf scheme is available from the April 1 and costs £299 a year plus a low green free charge of only £10-£15 per round.
This compares to standard membership which costs up to £1,200. The new pay-as-you-go scheme is for people who are unable make to commit to full membership and wish to enjoy the financial benefits of paying only when they play.
Whitefield GC president Martin Gilbert said: “Health experts have been saying for some time that golf is good for your health and your heart.
“Playing a round of golf has the same health benefits as a 45-minute fitness class.
“A round of golf on a glorious day with friends not only makes you feel great but helps with weight loss and lowering cholesterol.
“It gives your heart and bones a good workout and helps induce a great night’s sleep. Add to that the cost savings on annual membership, we think it’s an irresistible package for golfers!”
