MARTIN Love scored a hat-trick as Heys brushed aside Manchester League Premier Division title contenders Hollinwood in emphatic style for their third consecutive win.
Mark Slater’s men enjoyed their afternoon on the 3G surface of the Oldham side, who had won five matches on the bounce and scored 23 goals going into the game.
Manger Slater was forced to play at right back, despite his misgivings over the surface, with only 11 men available to play.
But he need not have worried as his thread-bare team humbled the favourites.
Love suffered a frustrating afternoon the previous week when he failed to score as Heys thrashed Atherton Town.
He had already been denied three times when he opened his account on 33 minutes, latching on to a long clearance from stand-in goalkeeper Joanthan Maylon before slotting the ball home.
Prestwich continued to dominate after the interval, prompting the hosts to make two substitutions, but Love doubled their advantage on 65 minutes when a crunching tackle from Lee Stott set up the striker, who rounded the keeper to score.
It got even better for Love two minutes later when he completed his hat-trick in spectacular style, hitting a rising drive from 20 yards which went in off the underside of the crossbar.
Heys entertain East Manchester at Standgate Road, kick off 2pm.
