PRESTWICH Cricket, Tennis & Bowling Club’s expansion into football gathered more momentum when the Heys Road outfit welcomed three junior teams to their fledgling football section.
With two new open age teams competing in the Lancashire Amateur League alongside their existing team playing in the Bury Sunday League, Prestwich FC have now taken on an Under-11s team in the North Bury Junior League and two small-sided Under-6s sides.
Club Chairman Brian Lorenzini was delighted with the addition of the new junior teams and predicts a bright future for the club as a whole.
“Every sports club needs to safeguard their future by nurturing the talent of tomorrow,” said Lorenzini.
“And ever since the idea of setting up a football section came about, we’ve explored the opportunities out there for introducing junior players in to the club as well.”
And with Prestwich also well in to the process of obtaining the FA’s Charter Standard award, their commitment to the future of football at the club is clear to see.
“It’s a really exciting time for the club as a whole what with all the redevelopment work going on around the site,” explained Mr Marsh.
“It a very forward thinking and professional club and we’re all delighted to be a part of it and cannot wait to get started.”
There are a limited number of places remaining for junior players at both age groups and any interested parents should contact George Marsh on 07979 903 090 for more information.
