PRESTWICH Heys players reported for pre-season training last week as Heys began the countdown to the 2014-15 season.
Just six weeks after the last campaign ended, more than 30 old and new players battled the warm weather in a two-hour session that combined running, drills and ball work as Jon Lyons prepared his side for the new campaign’s kick off on August 16.
The Heys boss was encouraged by the workrate of the players and the turnout, particularly with several players away on holiday.
Sessions will continue on Tuesday and Thursday nights, meeting 6.30pm at the club, and Saturdays at 12.30pm.
Meanwhile, Heys have added another friendly to their pre-season build-up, away at Beechfield United on Saturday, August 9.
The Kenyon Cup clash with Bolton County has also been switched to an away game and now takes place on Tuesday, July 29, kick off 7pm.
