ENTHUSED entrepreneur Charles Burns has survived another week across the table from Lord Sugar.

During this week’s episode of The Apprentice, which aired on BBC1 last night, 24-year old Charles and his fellow contestants were tasked with designing and selling high-tech robots.

The teams were divided into two, with one team tasked with designing a robot and deciding what skills it should have. The other team had to pitch the robot to nationwide retailers, having their sales figures revealed in the boardroom.

This week, team Vitality were led by Bolton businesswoman Michaela Wain, who was brought over from the girls’ side.

Speaking of the task, Charles said: “Myself and Michaela didn’t see eye to eye on the task initially, but generally speaking she wasn’t a bad project manager.

“The problem was she looked at the money rather than what would actually make us win.

“In reality she should have placed herself in the pitching team.

"I think the reason I didn't have a more frontal role is because Michaela thought of me as being this disruptive character.

"I enjoyed the task, it was an interesting one being able to shape a new product but it was also frustrating because I wanted to be on the pitching side as that's what I do.”

Mr Burns experienced an embarrassing mishap during the task, whilst pitching their robot ‘Simon’.

Charles and Michaela quickly discovered was that the sub-team had programmed the robot to introduce itself as ‘Jeffery’, named after the latest evictee Jeff Wan.

Vitality suffered a loss for a third week running, leaving Charles and his colleagues at risk of being fired by Lord Sugar.

Fortunately for Charles, he avoided the chop when Michaela decided to bring Elliot Van Emden and Harrison Jones back into the boardroom.

Legal firm owner Elliot got the boot from Lord Sugar due to his lack of contribution to the task.
