A YOUNG boy has been rescued by firefighters after getting stuck in a tree.
The nine-year-old had been climbing the tree in Radcliffe New Road, Whitefield, yesterday when he slipped and became caught between two branches.
A fire crew from Whitefield were called out at 5pm and used hydraulic spreading gear to move the branches, releasing the boy unharmed from the tree.
He was released within five minutes and his mother was on the scene. A spokesman for the fire service said the boy was fine but a little upset.
