YOUNG food fans enjoyed a pizz-a the action when they called in at an Italian restaurant.
A group of 45 pupils from St Bernadette's RC Primary School in Abingdon Avenue, Whitefield, visited La Capannina in Sunnybank Road, Unsworth, to meet chef Az Rasheed and learn the secrets of the perfect dish.
Children donned the chef's hat and learned how to make a pizza base, how to choose the right toppings and what Italian culinary terms mean.
Of the June 22 visit, Grahame Albinson, of La Capannina, said: "It was wonderful to host the children and they had a great time.
"Our head chef showed them how to make pizza and they were given a tour of the kitchen.
"The school has a pretend pizza restaurant, where children can practise writing by taking orders, maths by counting and using money and sharing by doing role plays.
"This was a good extension of those studies and I am glad the boys and girls enjoyed their visit."
