HORSE racing fans enjoyed all the fun of Ladies Day at Ascot — without leaving Whitefield.
Radcliffe-based finance firm Excel A Rate hosted a social event at the Whitefield Golf Club in Higher Lane, with guests watching all the action on a big screen.
It was an opportunity for business representatives to network and the afternoon raised more than £5,000, which the club is aiming to spend on a new driving range for disabled and disadvantaged children.
Bury Mayor, Cllr Stella Smith, was one of the guests at the June 18 event and presented the 'best dressed' award to Gillian Sewell of Zipp Design, whose hat was decorated as a golf course.
Organisers said they were delighted with the turnout and success of the day.
