STAFF and residents at a care centre found a tasty way to learn about the importance of fairtrade.
Elmhurst Care Centre in Whalley Road, Whitefield, is a short stay and respite care facility for up to 33 people and has its own bistro.
As part of Fair Trade Fortnight, which took place last month, the centre's catering team whipped up cakes made from fairtrade ingredients — and they all went down a treat.
A spokesman for the centre said: "It was a really good idea to show the importance of ensuring that people who produce ingredients are treated fairly.
"The cakes were very tasty and everyone had a good time sampling them."
