GREEN fingered youngsters have been transforming willow into garden art.
Pupils from Higher Lane Primary School in Whitefield spent a full week working with willow weaver Cherry Chung to create their own long-lasting artwork.
The school's business manager Donna Cartwright said: "The younger children helped make some giant ants out of dried willow and their artwork will be attached to our fence.
"The older children have been building a willow den in our 'grow your own' area.
"Once the willow has rooted, the branches will get their leaves and the den will become fully covered.
"This has been a great experience for the children as the den will last forever and they will be able to watch it grow and be involved in its upkeep and maintenance, as well as being able to use it."
