POLICE are seeking witnesses to a "large-scale" disturbance in Besses.
Officers said that there was a confrontation between a group of youths and a couple at between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on February 19 on Bury Old Road near the Mercedes Garage.
They have spoken with a boy and a girl, who have been bailed while police make further enquiries, and are urging witnesses to come forward.
It is understood the incident involved between six and 17 people.
PC Danny McCondichie, of Whitefield Police, said: "This was a large-scale disturbance on a busy road at a time of night when lots of people are driving down the road and people may have been walking in the vicinity.
"I am asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch so we can establish exactly what happened."
Call PC McCondichie with information on 0161 856 8204.”
