* MORE than 200 parents met to discuss ways of preventing the merger of Mersey Drive, Ribble Drive and Whitefield primary schools.
* Police were hunting two men who robbed a grandfather in Poppythorn Lane, Prestwich, of football pools money.
* Statistics revealed the former Prestwich Hills Reservoir at Butterstile Lane was the last large site in Prestwich available for development, * A £5,000 reward was put up for the conviction of a man who launched an armed raid on Barclays Bank in Bury Old Road, Whitefield.
* Sedgley Park RUFC played Littleborough away and won 15-13.
