FOODIE fans are in for a real treat as a supermarket launches one of the world's most expensive steaks for a fraction of the price.
Widely thought of as the best - and priciest - beef in the world, Aldi is making this superior meat both affordable and accessible to customers for a limited time only and while stocks last.
Aldi’s Specially Selected Wagyu Rib Eye and Specially Selected Sirloin Steaks will sell for £7.29 for 227g (8oz) compared to a typical upmarket restaurant price of £40 per 100g where it would cost £90.80 to enjoy the same size steak.
The steaks come from cattle that are both bred and 100% grass-fed on open New Zealand pastures to give the meat a distinctive rich flavour and texture.

Tony Baines, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi, said, “By sourcing from only the finest Wagyu producers in New Zealand, Aldi continues to offer unique and premium quality at everyday low prices, providing customers with significant savings without compromise.”
Demand is expected to be unprecedented and a limit of two steaks per purchase has been placed to ensure that as many customers as possible get to enjoy this very special meat.
