A MAN has been left in a 'life-threatening' condition after a falling from a bridge at junction 19 of the M60 last night.
The 46-year-old was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary with multiple suspected fractures, after the incident at around 7.30pm on Thursday, and remains in intensive care.
A police spokesman confirmed that he is in a stable but life-threatening condition, with injuries to his pelvis and lower limbs.
Traffic was brought to a standstill while police and paramedics attended to him in the carriageway. There were severe delays clockwise back to junction 18 Simister Island, with junction 19 for the Three Arrows roundabout closed and traffic diverted over the slip road.
The road reopened fully shortly after 10pm.
We had to close M60 C/W at junction 19 earlier due to an incident. The drivers of several vehicles decide to drive down the hard shoulder!!!
