PRESTWICH shop staff are holding a cake sale and live auction to raise funds for Stand Up to Cancer.
Up for grabs at the event, to take place on Friday October 9, will be prizes including food and pamper hampers.
Staff from the Cancer Research UK shop, on Bury New Road, Prestwich, will host the event which starts from 6.30pm onwards at The Orange Tree pub, off Fairfax Road.
A joint fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, Stand Up To Cancer aims to raise money to fund vital research so cancer patients can receive new and better treatments more quickly.
The Prestwich fundraiser will also include a tombola, face-painting, a Christmas stall, football cards and a raffle.
Launched in the UK in 2012, Stand Up To Cancer has already raised £23.8 million, and this year’s campaign will culminate with an evening of special programming on Channel 4 on October. 9
