A PRESTWICH school is celebrating a bumper summer fair which raised £1,600.

Saturday's fun-filled extravaganza at Park View Primary School attracted a "fantastic turnout" and the amount of money generated is believed to be the highest amount in the history of the annual event.

Organised by the school's parent teacher association at its grounds in Park View Road, activities included an assortment of stalls, games, welly throwing, face painting, and storytelling. And assistant headteacher Rachel McClean even braved the stocks to have wet sponges thrown at her.
