AN ATHLETIC 12-year-old girl has donated £400 to Bury Hospice after taking on the Manchester 2k Run.
Annabelle Barnett, of Ringley Hey, Whitefield, took part in the event on May 9, the day before the Manchester 10k, after weeks of fundraising at her school.
The Bury Grammar pupil said: “I wanted to raise money for charity and I like running so this was a really good way of doing that.
“I felt really good after the race, and really proud of myself because I was impressed with my time.”
Mum Lucy Barnett added: "I suggested to Annabelle that she could support the hospice because we had a close family member spend some time there and I know they helped a lot.
"I’m so proud of her for taking part in the run and so happy that she managed to raise such a fantastic total for the hospice."
