SHOCKING footage shows a TV producer screaming "get ready to die" at a family following a crash on a Hampshire motorway.

Fergus Beeley, who was behind Sir David Attenborough's popular show Planet Earth: the Future, was filmed hurling abuse at a family after an incident on the M27.

A satellite navigation system can be heard directing the stationary car to Charles Watts Way, Hedge End, while the row escalates.

At one point Beeley, who is dressed in a pink shirt, appears to grab a man and shout "get ready to die".

He then tells a number of people they are under a citizen's arrest and yells "I do want you dead".

A woman on the footage can be heard claiming that a car rammed them on the motorway, before telling Beeley "you need a doctor" and labelling him a "plonker".

A national newspaper reported that the incident happened at about 11.30am on Saturday, July 22, and involved driver Simon Gale.

Mr Gale, 33, told the paper: "It was quite a scary thing.

"He flew into an absolute raving state.

"When he got out the car he demanded 'do you know who I am?' and when I said I didn't he grabbed me and pushed me against the car."

"Luckily none of us are harmed in any way, but we're still quite shaken by it.

"We're definitely going to be a bit more cautious from now on."

Beeley is listed as a producer on documentaries including The Life of Birds, Wildlife on One, and Natural World.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "We were called to a non-injury road traffic collision on the M27 between junctions 5 and 7 at 11.30am on July 22.

"The incident involved a Mazda 3, a Peugeot 107 and a Skoda Octavia.

"When officers attended all parties had moved to the Sainsbury’s car park in Hedge End.

"A 32-year-old man from Southampton and a 54-year-old from Gloucestershire each made an allegation of common assault but neither party wanted to pursue the complaint.

"As a result, advice was given to both parties and they were told that two assaults will be recorded and filed."

The Daily Echo has contacted Mr Beeley for comment.
