Two charged following serious assault in Ramsbottom

Two men have been charged following a serious assault in Ramsbottom Marcus Dawson, aged 19, of Caernarvon Close, Greenmount, Bury was charged with Section 18 and Section 47 assault.
Aaron Warrington, aged 24, of Peel Brow, Ramsbottom was charged with Section 18 assault.
Both appeared at Bury Magistrates today. Dawson was bailed until October 1 and Warrington remanded in custody.
Two other men previously arrested, aged 21 and 23, have been bailed pending further inquiries.
At about 11pm on Friday, police were called to the junction of Bridge Street and Bolton Street following reports of a fight.
Officers attended and found a 32-year-old man unconscious. He had been punched to the floor and then punched and kicked while he was down, including being kicked to the head.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to a bleed on the brain and he remains in the intensive care unit at Hope Hospital, in a critical but stable condition.
