Council leader to outline business Bury to bosses
9:50am Wednesday 5th September 2012 in News
BUSINESSES in Bury will get the opportunity to hear first-hand about the economic development of the borough tomorrow.
Council leader Cllr Mike Connolly will be the guest speaker at the “Doing Business in Bury” breakfast event tomorrow.
Organised by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, it will be held at the Red Hall Hotel, in Manchester Road, Walmersley, between 7.15am and 9am.
The event is open to members and non-members of the chamber, and will be chaired by its policy and communications director, Chris Fletcher.
He will also lead a debate about issues currently facing businesses in Bury and how the chamber can lobby on their behalf.
Michelle Geoghegan, the Chamber’s local policy manager, said: “As well as being given the opportunity to put their questions to Mike Connolly, the chamber is interested in hearing the views of businesses trading in the borough and understanding the issues impacting upon them.
“The views of businesses are vital to our lobbying work and we're looking forward to highlighting some of the issues we have been working on, but also gathering evidence to help shape our future “Action for Business' work.”
