A MAN has died after being hit by a tram.
Police and the ambulance service were called to Radcliffe Metrolink station at 10.30am today, following reports of a man jumping in front of a tram.
On arrival, they discovered a 58-year-old man trapped underneath the vehicle.
He was rescued and taken to hospital, where he later died.
An investigation is underway and the Metrolink line was closed between Bury and Whitefield until 1.30pm.
Normal service has now resumed.
