Anthony Cotton opens new Bury business

ACTOR Antony Cotton certainly didn’t do his Street cred any harm when he met scores of fans as he opened a newly-launched business in Bury town centre.

The former Woodhey High School pupil, who plays Sean Tully in Coronation Street, was the star attraction at the opening of Mays Pawnbrokers and Jewellers, on Princess Parade in the Mill Gate centre.

The opening of the shop has created five new jobs at the firm, which has been serving the Greater Manchester area since 1825.

A shop spokesman said: “The grand opening allowed us to get to know people and Antony was just brilliant.

“We had a fabulous reaction from members of the public and Antony had a great rapport with the customers.”

The business has other branches in Collyhurst, Ashton, Salford, Oldham and Manchester.
