Dignity Action Day brings visitors to care home

YOUNG and old came together in Radcliffe to celebrate Dignity Action Day.

Last Thursday, Rose Court care home, in Water Street, was inundated with visitors of all ages.

Residents got their hands dirty when they filled plant pots with help from members of Groundwork Bury and Bolton.

They were joined by children from Gorsefield Primary School and Clever Clogs nursery.

The youngsters also joined residents in making cakes and painting.

The Mayor of Bury, Councillor Sheila Magnall, paid a special visit to the home to enjoy lunch with the residents.

She was given a tour of the facilities and received a bouquet of flowers from the home manager.

Michelle Kay, activities co-ordinator, said: “It was a really successful day and the residents loved all the activities.

“It was a great way to show that there is still dignity for people when they go into a nursing home.”
