BURY Grammar School “Old Boys” have been mourning the death of one of their amateur soccer players and managers.
Paul Gregory died at Bury Hospice from cancer of the small bowel.
He had suffered from Crohn’s disease, a digestive disorder, since the age of 11.
The 37-year-old, who was a regional sales manager, lived in Appleby Close, Ainsworth Chase.
He leaves a wife and two children aged 12 and seven.
The ex-Bury Grammar School man was an enthusiastic “Old Boys” member and was heavily involved in the organisation for former pupils.
He played in their soccer squads for a number of years and had been manager of the first 11. He was also a keen golfer.
During his career in sales, Mr Gregory received numerous awards from his employers for his performance and won many foreign trips as a result of his work.
The funeral service was held at Guardian Angels RC Church in Bury followed by committal at Overdale Crematorium.
