KIND-HEARTED Bury College students have fundraised for a vital health charity.

The Level 1 Business class presented a cheque for £137 to the British Heart Foundation to help the charity in their fight to end heart disease and fund cardiovascular research.

The students had raised the funds by organising stands at the college selling confectionary to staff and students.

The team had also worked together to plan, market and manage the event.

A representative from the British Heart Foundation was then invited to a cheque presentation event where the fundraising initiative and student contributions were discussed.

They also discussed student experiences at Bury College and different work experience opportunities completed.

The class said they were delighted to be able to present the cheque to the charity.

Nick Harrison, store manager at the British Heart Foundation shop in Bury said: “The money that the students have raised means everything to the British Heart Foundation. They have raised money and awareness about what we as a charity do. The presentation event was lovely and it was nice to be a part of it.”
