PLANS have been submitted to build apartments on the former site of a Tottington pub.
The Hark to Towler, in Market Street, was once synonymous with live heavy metal gigs but closed in September.
Now there are plans to convert the building into four two-bedroom apartments across two floors.
The apartments are described by architects Fish Associates as a “high quality modest development”, and also include an extension on terrace and the addition of four car parking spaces.
The plans involve using “the existing fabric of the building”, although there will be “a small amount of demolition and new entrance to the rear of the pub”.
The pub is owned by Blackburn-based brewery Daniel Thwaites, who confirmed they have accepted an offer to sell the building.
John Draper, Estates Director at Thwaites, said: “The Hark to Howler closed in September and the tenant moved to another nearby Thwaites pub, The Dungeon Inn. We have considered all options available with regards to the future of the pub and accepted an offer to sell it.”
