POLICE are appealing for help in identifying a man after a burglary in Bury earlier this year.

At around 12.15pm on Wednesday, March 8, police were called to Holcombe Road, Greenmount after a man had climbed over a side gate and into the garden of a house.

After the rear patio door was smashed to gain entry, an untidy search of the house was carried out before a number of items, including jewellery, were taken.

An investigation was launched and a man was previously identified however, further enquiries led to him being eliminated from enquiries.

Officers have now released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the burglary.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Barker of GMP’s Bury Borough, said: “I appreciate this happened earlier on this year however, having looked at the CCTV, I’m sure if anyone knows the man pictured, they will recognise him.

“Since March, we have gathered as much evidence as we possibly can in relation to this case and now want to speak to this man.

“Please take the time to study the footage, how the man is holding himself, how he walks and give us a call as soon as possible if you recognise him.”
