HEALTH decision makers meet this week and members of the public are invited to go along to observe and ask questions.

NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) next routine governing body meeting will take place on Wednesday from 3pm at Townside Primary Care Centre, Knowsley Place in Bury, on the fifth floor.

The governing body meetings are where discussions and decisions happen in relation to the planning and funding of health services in the borough of Bury.

Regular items on the agenda will include finance, performance and quality. Beforehand, on the same day from noon, the CCG’s Primary Care Commissioning Committee will meet. The committee oversees the work of the CCG in relation to the commissioning of primary care services, such as GP services.

In addition at this meeting there will be an update on transformation plans for dentists, optometrists and pharmacists.

Public questions relating to agenda items being discussed at both meetings are welcome.

These should be submitted in advance to allow sufficient time for the question to be picked up and processed in advance of the meetings. Question forms are available on the CCG’s website, www.buryccg.nhs.uk, under ‘Your local NHS’, and paper copies can be obtained by contacting the CCG by telephone on 0161 762 3189 or by email at buccg.corporateoffice@nhs.net Dr Kiran Patel, chairman of NHS Bury CCG, said: “Our meetings are held in public and provide a great opportunity for local people to come along and find out more about what we do and to get closer to the decision making process about the services we plan and purchase on their behalf.”
