WORKS on a scheme to improve a main road in Radcliffe will start from next week,

The works will mean that travel could be affected for a short period of time as diversions will be in place.

The first improvements will begin on Monday, March 27, in Church Street West, between Barlow Street and 46 Church Street West, with the work scheduled to last for one week.

Drainage and footway work will take place from Monday to Friday during the off-peak hours of 9.30am and 3pm.

Between these times temporary two-way traffic signals will operate.

Following that, the road will be fully closed at this location (except for access) on the weekend of April 1 and 2 between the times of 8am and 6pm while the carriageway is resurfaced.

Any diversions will be clearly signposted throughout the time of the improvements.

The work will depend on the weather and will be followed by putting down new road markings.
