TICKETS are still available for Bury Grammar School's production of 'Les Miserables'.

The legendary West End and Broadway show, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, will begin on Wednesday and run until Saturday.

The show follows the life of former convict Jean Valjean, who, after spending 19 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread, decides to break his parole and as a result is pursued across France by Inspector Javert.

Valjean arrives in Paris, during a time when a group of students, unhappy with the political situation, try to stage a new French Revolution.

They set up a barricade, believing that they can encourage the people of Paris to join them in their fight.

The musical contains some of the most well-known songs in musical theatre, including: Do You Hear the People Sing, Who Am I, Stars, I Dreamed a Dream, One Day More, On My Own, and Bring Him Home.

It was also made into a popular film in 2012 starring Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe.

BGS previously presented Les Miserables in 2008, but this season's version features twice as many performers in the cast.

Tickets are available to the public from the school office, priced at £10 each.
