COLLEGE students gained skills for career progression when they collaborated with university students for a fashion photo shoot.

As part of their media make-up foundation degree, students from Bury College University Centre styled models for one of their projects and second year media students from Bury College were on hand to take professional photographs.

As well as being given the opportunity to put the skills they had developed in the classroom into practice, the students were also given an insight into working in the industry and work experience that they can include on their CVs and university application forms.

The photographs taken by the students will be used for their portfolios as a way to showcase the work.

Olivia Hardman, a former Crompton House Church of England School pupil from Middleton, was one of the students who was involved in the work experience opportunity.

18-year-old Miss Hardman said: “Todays photo-shoot has been really good and has been a great opportunity to gain industry experience.”

Madeline Settle, Bury College art technician, said: “From taking part in the photo-shoot, students will take away how to produce portfolio pictures and learn how to work under pressure.

“It is a great opportunity for our students to also learn how to work with other industries who work in a similar field.”
