A CHARITY ball and comedy night has raised £7,500 for Cancer Research.
Organised by independent financial advisers Northern Star, of Ramsbottom, took place at the Village Hotel, Bury on Saturday.
Friends, colleagues, clients and local businesses attended and were entertained by MC Rob Hallam and three other comedians.
Also speaking at the event was Dr Allan Jordan, of Cancer Research UK, who praised the efforts of the organisers and said: "Without funds raised from events like this, our battle with cancer would be impossible. We are making great strides and the new research facility — across from The Christie, Manchester — is now an internationally renowned hub for cancer research. Thank you so much for your support."
Sarah Buckley, organiser from Northern Star, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended on Saturday — it was a great night! The support given was overwhelming and a testament to the great relationships we have with our friends and colleagues. I'm now thinking how we can better it next year!"
