BURY businessman Samuel Boateng has survived another week on BBC show The Apprentice.

The former Castlebrook High School and Holy Cross College student has made it through to the third week of the show after he survived being hauled back in the boardroom as neither team were crowned winners.

Lord Sugar was so annoyed with the quality of the advertising brands created by both teams that in a first for this task he pulled both teams back in for the final show down.

The second week of the 12th series aired this evening and saw the 17 remaining contestants come up with an advertising campaign for a pair of jeans.

The boys team came up with DAY (Day After Yesterday) Denim while the girls team went with Unclaimed.

For the second week running viewers have yet to see much of Samuel as more prominent characters in the series took the limelight.

However, his lack of presence did not lead to a bashing in the boardroom as other quiet were pulled up by Lord Sugar for being “dead wood” and blending in to the background.

The teams had to come with a brand, advertising campaign including television advert, posters and packaging before pitching to an advertising company.

They also had to make interactive adverts for bus shelters.

In a surprise turn of events at the end of the programme Lord Sugar slated both teams’ efforts pulling three of the boys and three of the girls back in to the boardroom.

He said: “I’m not putting my name to either of these advertising campaigns they are useless.

“I’m so angry that not one of you geniuses came through and ran this properly. Never mind more like demented dimwits.”

Natalie Hughes became the second person to be fired from this year’s competition.

Although Samuel made it through to next week Lord Sugar issued a warning to all contestants, he said: “You have got to up your game because I am terribly disappointed with what I have seen today.”
