A CARE service in Bury has been given a good rating in a recent inspection.

Alexandra House is an independent domiciliary care agency based in premises close to Bury town centre.

It provides help and support to adults with a variety of needs.

The Care Quality Commission carried out an inspection on July 13-14 and its subsequent report has rated the service as good in all areas.

Manager Suzannah Woods said: “We are really pleased to get ‘Good’. The inspector told us how hard it is to get ‘Outstanding’, which is the next one up, so we are over the moon to get ‘Good’.

“We have all worked really hard and we have a very good network of clients who are all happy with the service we provide.

“It is very rewarding to get this sort of recognition, especially given the negatives around the care service recently.”

The inspection found that the care was safe, effective, well led, responsive and caring.

The report stated: “People told us they felt safe with the staff that supported them and felt the staff had the right skills and experience to meet their needs.

“They also spoke positively about the kindness and caring attitude of the registered provider, the registered manager and the staff.”
