FIRE crews came to the rescue of two teenage girls trapped in a lift in Bury late last night.
Crews from Bury and Whitefield were called to flats in Market Street at 11.30pm after two 18-year-olds called for help when a lift they were in stopped working.
The lift came to a halt before reaching the ground floor and refused to open.
After around 20 minutes trapped inside, the girls were released by the crews who used a lift key to open the doors and help them out.
A spokesperson for the fire service said they were unharmed and relieved to be out.
