ONE of America's best young comedians will be in town for a special Edinburgh Fringe show.

Russell Hicks is known for constantly producing new work of such high quality that audiences are compelled to return again and again.

His shows are fast and loose and no two are the same.

He was also recently branded as one of six comedians to watch by Los Angeles Stand Up Talk magazine.

Joining him for the show on Thursday, June 2, will be Alfie Moore who is the writer and star of BBC series It's a Fair Cop.

Mr Moore was inspired to take up stand-up comedy in 2007 after his first taste of live comedy at a local comedy club.

The serving policeman, who is on a career break, became well and truly hooked and broke onto the comedy circuit in 2008 performing regularly up and down the country.

Mr Moore brings a wealth of insights and comedy moments from his 18 years on the beat to his shows and in 2011 he was a contestant on Show me the Funny, hosted by Jason Manford.

Following this he has gone on to support Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their national tours.

As The Met is currently undergoing a £4.6 million refurbishment, performances are taking place at other venues across the town.

This event will be held at The Fusilier Museum, Moss Street, Bury.

Doors open at 8pm and the performance will begin at 8.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 on the door or £8 in advance and can be purchased at themet.biz
