SHOPPERS were treated to a free cuppa and slice of cake as a pop-up teashop visited the Mill Gate centre to promote the textiles industry.
The Textiles Teashop roadshow came to Bury as part of a tour of Greater Manchester, giving visitors the chance to meet employers and chat about new job opportunities.
Textiles manufacturing across the borough is worth an estimated £55 million, including homeware manufacture and textiles finishing, with clusters of firms located in Bury East, Radcliffe and Ramsbottom.
An estimated 400 new jobs are set to be created in the industry across Greater Manchester every year for the next decade due to the demand for British-made products.
