A MANCHESTER firm which has chosen to support the Joshua Wilson Brian Tumour charity during 2015 has funded a teenage entertainment pack for the young oncology unit at The Christie.

Insight UK, a provider of IT products and services, started their campaign with a £2,000 donation to the charity, and has a series of wacky fundraising initiatives lined up for the remainder of the year.

The packs contain televisions, XBoxes, DVDs, books, games and other items aimed at teenagers.

Dawn Fidler, who set up the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour charity, said “As a family who have spent long periods of time with a teenager in hospital, we are aware that hospitals cannot provide everything. Our aim is to supply a teenage entertainment pack for each hospital in the North West. This amazing donation from Insight has enabled the purchase of one such pack."

Insight UK’s sales director, Christian Sait, said he and colleagues have been "blown away" by the dedication of Dawn and her team and added: "We are looking forward to working on various events to raise money and awareness throughout the year.”

Penelope Hart-Spencer, play specialist and paediatric support co-ordinator at The Christie, said: “The entertainment package has brought so much happiness to our patients and given them lots of things to do and look forward to doing while on treatment."
