A DRUG dealer has failed in his bid to have his prison sentence reduced.
Wayne McCreery, aged 42, of Windsor Avenue, Whitefield, was jailed for 27 months at Bolton Crown Court in October after admitting two counts of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
His lawyers asked Appeal Court judges to cut his sentence, claiming he was treated too harshly.
After considering the arguments, Lord Justice Davis today said: "There was nothing excessive, let alone manifestly excessive, about this sentence and this appeal must fail."
The court heard how police stopped a car in which McCreery was in in May 2013 and found cannabis worth £200.
Officers then searched his flat and found another stash of cannabis worth £2,000.
At the same court cost last October, McCreery's 23-year-old girlfriend was given a two-year community order.
The Appeal Court heard McCreery is a seasoned offender with an "appalling record" of more than 100 offences under his belt.
Lord Justice Davis said: "He brought into crime his girlfriend, who was approximately half his age, and that aggravated the role he played."
Criticising McCreery's use of others, Lord Justice Davis said that, without McCreery's undue influence, the woman "would never have been involved in this sort of offending."
