A HOSPITAL radio station has teamed up with Bury FC to provide matchday commentary for patients and football fans.

Roch Valley Radio, established at Fairfield Hospital in 2006, will work with the club throughout the 2015/16 season, with listeners able to enjoy live coverage in hospital, online, and via mobile apps.

Station manager David Murphy said: "I’m delighted that we have been working with Bury FC to secure a sponsorship deal. The voluntary work that we do based within the hospital can go unnoticed at times.

"The deal will be great for promoting our work and service to our listeners, the community and for all our volunteers who will be working with Bury FC."

The club's commercial account manager Daniel Bowerbank added: “Bury FC are proud to support a local volunteer group through Roch Valley Radio and look forward to working with David in promoting the hard work in which the volunteers undertake on a daily basis.

"Bury FC are a community club and pride themselves on working within the heart of the community."

Any money raised for the radio station, which will be on air 24 hours a day, seven days a week, goes towards running costs, and includes paying for licences, insurance and improving facilities.
