A COUPLE have seen their dreams come true after coming out on top in a competition — to win a wedding.

Scott Leach and Rebecca Seaton, who live in Elton, will tie the knot at the Fusilier Museum after holding their nerve in a Mr and Mrs style quiz which they edged by one point.

It was the last hurdle they had to overcome to win the museum's Win A Wedding competition, with shortlisted finalists being whittled down to the final two with a general knowledge quiz.

Not only have Scott, aged 26, and Rebecca, aged 32, won the wedding itself, the prize includes a wedding breakfast, evening reception, a wedding planner, venue dressing and a pampering package.

The couple, who have been together for five years and have a three-year-old son named Logan, are now counting down to their big day, which they anticipate will be held this summer.

Scott, who serves in the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Corps of Drums, as well as working as a store manager at Cash Generator in Heywood, popped the question on Remembrance Sunday last year.

Rebecca, who works as a sales manager at Ace Car Parts in Bury, said: "I can’t believe we’ve won — we never expected to win at all and so we’re completely overwhelmed!

"We are so excited to get married at The Fusilier Museum — it’s a beautiful venue and it will be a really unique day. We’d just like to say a huge thank you to the museum and Tower FM for making our dreams come true!"

The competition was held as part of a wedding show at the museum, which attracted more than 40 couples and featured 20 exhibitors.

It also included a live catwalk show, and a military fanfare from the Lancashire Fusiliers Fanfare trumpets to signal the start of the show.

Helen Smith, General Manager of The Fusilier Museum, said: “We are so pleased that our first ever wedding show was such a success and it was great to see it so busy with lots of brides and grooms visiting.

"We are really looking forward to welcoming the winning couple — Rebecca and Scott and helping them make their day really special later in the year.

"Finally I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our exhibitors for helping us promote our new facility, and to all the brides and grooms who visited the show or entered the Win a Wedding competition."
