SUSPECTED squatters had to be removed from The Rock after starting a fire which seeped up through the floorboards of Coral Bookmakers.
Several businesses had to close for up to an hour this afternoon while the fire service dealt with the fire.
Two people thought to be living in the basement under Coral had started a fire involving paper and wires.
The blaze, which firefighters dealt with at about 4.30pm on February 18, did no damage to the basement, but did cause some smoke damage.
Police attended, according to a fire service spokesman, and removed the people thought to the squatters.
The spokesman said: "They had a lot of possessions in there with them and were clearly living there.
"The police will now secure the building."
