TWO brothers have admitted breaking into a garage at the home of the brother of DJ Sara Cox.

Gary Foulkes, aged 33, of Ashness Place, Breightmet, got into the garage belonging to Robert Cox last Thursday and stole £720 of gardening equipment.

With him at the property in Ainsworth, was his brother, Barry Foulkes, aged 28, of Tonge Moor, who also stole the items, which included two hedge trimmers, a circular chainsaw and a leaf sucker.

The pair appeared before Bury magistrates today and each admitted one count of burglary.

They were freed on conditional bail and are due to be sentenced at the same court on February 18.

After the break in, Sara Cox took to Twitter to post CCTV images of the men in a bid to catch them.

About five hours later, the radio star tweeted again to thank her followers because two suspects were in custody.

After the hearing, Robert, who is an artist, said: "The police have been really good. They have kept me well informed.

"The police have done a fabulous service and it shows you how effective and efficient they are if they have evidence to go on.

"I'm fortunate I got some good images.

"Twitter has been remarkably helpful in this situation.

"I have been impressed with the amount of goodwill in the community from people. It has been quite uplifting.

"That goodwill has helped take the edge off things after my belongings were taken from my property.”
