NEWLY weds Rosie and Marc Hall showed their support for Bury’s new Fairtrade garden when they got married in a rock ’n’ roll-themed ceremony.

The ceremony took place at Bury Registry Office and the garden was featured in the couple’s wedding photographs.

Mr and Mrs Hall, from Peel Brow, jetted off on a two-week honeymoon in Florida after their rock ‘n’ roll wedding.

Bernard Emblem, chairman of Bury Fairtrade, said: “Rosie is my step-daughter, so I was delighted when she said she’d like the Fairtrade garden to feature in her wedding photographs.

“We’re very proud of our beautiful new garden, which celebrates Bury’s status as a Fairtrade borough.

It’s a permanent reminder of the town’s commitment to Fairtrade.”

Councillor Peter Bury, the council’s Fairtrade spokesman, said: “I was pleased when we became recognised as a Fairtrade town and this garden is a further commitment by the council to Bury’s Fairtrade status.”

The garden lies in front of the town hall, and was established in collaboration with Bury in Bloom, Forever Manchester, and Bury’s Community Fund.
