A car caught fire on the M66 after an electrical fault this morning.
Firefighters from Bury and Ramsbottom attended the incident shortly before 8am on the M66 northbound between junction one at Ramsbottom and junction two at Bury.
The driver of the car was unhurt, but the car was destroyed.
One lane of the motorway had been closed but has now been reopened, and traffic is now easing.
